ABRASIVE WHEELS


Training is a legal requirement. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that abrasive wheels are operated only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use. If you are self-employed, the regulations still apply.

Course objectives:

One day Integrated Training and Assessment course covering the following topics:

Course duration: Normally one day for experienced users, but extending to two days to meet the needs of complete novices

Maximum number of trainees per course: Six

Personal Protective Equipment: Operators of abrasive wheels are strongly advised to wear the following items of personal protective equipment:

Eye Protection
The type of eye protection needed is largely dependent upon the type of hazard, but comfort, style and durability are all features which need consideration:

The types of eye protection available are:

BS EN 166 B Grade 1 impact: goggles, face shields (not settable and eye shields).

BS EN 166 B Grade 2 impact: goggles, face shields, spectacles and eye shields.

Cost - 1-day                           £100.00 + VAT per person
